Formerly an independent branch of Alagia-Crosby Engineers out of Phoenix, Arizona, Crosby Group became an independent corporation headed by Patrick Crosby and Dan Petruc-Naum in 1992. Colin Blaney promoted to Principal of the firm in 2000. The firm was founded with the vision that innovation, creativity and responsiveness would complement the firm's ability to provide excellent engineering services. Patrick Crosby Patrick Crosby serves as the visionary of the firm. He sets the direction of the company and acts as general marketing guru. Client and employee relationships are crucial to him. He maintains an open door policy and is in constant communications with clients to ensure our team meets or exceeds their expectations on every project. Pat is an innovator and leader in the seismic design field. His niche in the company has always been his enthusiasm and knowledge of seismic technology. Pat has traveled the world chasing earthquakes. After major earthquakes such as Mexico, Turkey, Japan, and Taiwan he toured each of the sites to learn what technology failed, what technology was successful, and what new information the earthquake itself would tell us about structural design. We incorporated this knowledge and technology into our seismic retrofit designs, such as the historic Marin County Hall of Justice, a Frank Lloyd Wright Municipal Facility. He makes certain that projects are run properly to ensure high quality and to make the most of client's budgets. His niche within our firm is his international experience. Originally from Romania, Dan speaks five languages and works with our international clients on projects in China, Turkey, Mexico, and Romania. He is able to blend his own experience with international codes and remote locations to design large scale projects. Dan's 25+ years of experience and PhD in the study of earthquake protection and reinforced concrete make him a valuable resource for Crosby Group engineers. Colin Blaney Colin serves as Principal in charge of Production and Quality Control. He works with our engineers to ensure complete, well detailed, and economical designs for our clients. He prides himself in meeting or exceeding client expectations. Mr. Blaney brings more than 18 years experience in structural engineering design and project management, including extensive project work on correctional, education, and healthcare facilities throughout California and Washington. He has extensive working knowledge of various State and Federal agencies' strict requirements such as OSHPD compliant design, FEMA, and DSA. Mr. Blaney has extensive experience with both Design-Bid-Build, and Design Build as both the final EOR and bridging Engineer. Colin currently serves on the CDCR Facilities Program Advisory Committee on behalf of the Structural Engineers Association of California and is the Chairman of SEAONC’s Existing Buildings Committee. Mr. Blaney also maintains an active role in the development and review of State Codes and is very familiar with the application of these codes to State Correctional work. Colin has been a speaker and has published numerous technical papers for SEAOC, EERI, and various other technical organizations.
