Crosby Group, as a design build partner with Hensel Phelps, performed
the structural design and engineering for redesign of the Ritz Carlton Club in Santa Barbara. This 3-building
complex located about two blocks from the boardwalk involves the construction of two new structures and the
modification of an existing 1920’s historic hotel building.
The new buildings, with an occupied area of about 200,000 square feet, include a basement parking structure and
three levels above ground comprising of time share units on the upper floors and commercial/public spaces on the
first. The design included the modification of the historic hotel building to maintain the original street-facing
facades with the remainder of the structure to be demolished and rebuilt. The design was completed in 2007.
