Crosby Group is performing structural engineering for Tynan Village, a multi-use 400,000s.f complex being planned for downtown Salinas, California. The project includes three four-story residential buildings and a separate three-level parking garage. One of the residential buildings will house commercial space on the first floor. The structural system being proposed comprises concrete shear walls with post-tensioned slabs. Another scheme being investigated is one-level concrete podiums with light gauge framing above. Anticipated construction cost is $45 million. The project is currently in schematic design and is slated for completion in 2010.
