Federal : LBNL Central Research Laboratory Building 50B Cooling Tower Upgrades
|

Crosby Group provided structural design for the replacement of an existing cooling
tower and the addition of a second cooling tower on the rooftop of the Central Research Laboratory Building 50B at
the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, California. The existing 6-story, 60,000sf concrete shearwall
structure was reviewed and isolator anchorage designed for the two new 55-ton single cell cooling towers that replaced
the outdated cooling tower to improve the energy efficiency of the building. Services included reviewing existing design
documents, field observations and site visits during construction.
