DRDC Ambulatory Surgical Center   1  2  3  4   Crosby Group provided structural engineering design for the site adapt of this one-story, 3,300sf Ambulatory Surgical Center modular structure, one of the only surgical centers within the secure perimeter of a correctional facility, located at the Denver Reception & Diagnostic Center. This new modular structure, with an I-2 Occupancy, provides surgical services for the 1000 acutely ill inmates cared for at the adjacent DRDC and allows the Colorado Department of Corrections to provide these services more efficiently. The new Ambulatory Surgical Center allows six to eight surgeries per day and by locating it within the secure perimeter, it provides greater public protection. By utilizing a modular building for the surgical center, the construction of this unique facility took less than four months thus minimizing the impact to the adjacent correctional facility.
