San Mateo County General Hospital - SB1953 Seismic Evaluation Report |
|
|
|
Crosby Group provided structural analysis and preparation of a seismic evaluation report
for the 1954-era San Mateo County General Hospital Building to identify its Structural Performance Category (SPC) per Senate
Bill 1953 requirements. The 105,000 square foot General Hospital building is a three-story with partial basement structure
with a dual lateral resisting system comprised of concrete shearwalls and steel moment frames. Crosby Group was tasked
with providing a seismic evaluation report to meet the requirements of SB 1953 with the goal of allowing continuing operation
of the facility until 2030. To compliment the evaluation process and preparation of the final report, the Crosby Group team
utilized the HAZUS program to estimate the probability of collapse and the associated SPC Level.
